Newsome’s current working fine art studio/gallery is located on her family property that is a (National Wildlife Federation) Certified Wildlife Habitat in South Georgia.

An ardent equestrian, gardener and wildlife enthusiast, she focuses on capturing the fabulous and unique essence of wildlife and nature subjects in oil on canvas. The conveyance of the intangible emotional part of a painting is of paramount importance to her. With her paintings, she endeavors to communicate to the viewer uplifting feelings of a "sense of place" as well as the "quality of light".

Her work has been exhibited in juried shows, one-woman shows and group exhibitions. Her paintings may be found in many private and corporate collections.

"She captured my Cocker Spaniel so perfectly that it honestly took my breath away.  Every little detail - the expression in her eyes, the sofftness of her fur, even her personality - was exactly her.  I cried the moment I saw it.  It is one of the most meaningful pieces of art I've ever owned, and I will treasure it forever."
